Condo to Share Near OHSU
Seeking a renter for the master bedroom/bathroom in my two bed, two bath riverfront, John’s Landing Condo.

The condo is located within easy walking distance to OHSU (around 15 min on the river trail to the base of the tram) and has easy access to I-5. The complex is in a safe neighborhood, very quiet, and comes complete with a swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna as well as one covered parking spot and ample off-street guest parking. The condo has all major appliances including a washer and dryer and is furnished minus the open bedroom.

My sister and I own the condo and she is moving in January 2018 and I am looking for a responsible and respectful roommate to rent her room. Her room is the largest of the two bedrooms, with direct access to the deck and its own full bathroom.

A little more about myself, I am a 30 year old female and will be remaining at the condo but my work schedule, I am a dispatcher for the Federal Government, keeps me extremely busy in the summer and I travel often during the winter. When I have free time, I enjoy relaxing with a good show/movie, cooking, and skiing.

Rent is $900-1000/month (some negotiation with that rate possible) with availability starting in January. Please feel free to contact me,, with any questions or for pictures of the condo.

Furnished Room in Craftsman Home in
There is a room coming available in our beautiful Craftsman home in Ladds Addition. The move-in date is flexible between December 1st and January 1st. Ladds Addition is a historic neighborhood featuring diagonal streets lined with 100-year old elm trees, four rose garden circles and a central garden circle. While it is a quiet neighborhood, It is 1-1/2 miles from downtown, close to bus lines, a six-block walk from the new Orange light rail line that goes to South Waterfront, Downtown Portland, PSU and the Tillikum crossing pedestrian, bicycle and light rail bridge. We are 2 blocks from the Hawthorne and Division Street neighborhoods, which are filled with cafes, shops and coffeehouses. We are also two blocks from New Seasons market and about 5 blocks from People's Food Coop.

The room is on the 2nd floor of the house and is well-sized and charming, with good light. It has two windows - one facing the back garden. The room has 100-year old wood floors, picture moldings and generally lots of character. It's furnished with a comfortable bed, an antique armoire, a desk and chair, lamps, an occasional chair and an area rug. It is painted straw with cream trim, and in addition to the armoire, has a closet as well.

The house is a Portland four square built in 1915. It has 4 bedrooms on 3 floors and 1-1/2 baths. There are wood floors throughout, a fireplace, natural fir woodwork and box-beam ceilings in the dining room, a simple but charming kitchen with a 40s gas Wedgewood stove and maple flooring, front porch with a porch swing and wicker couch and chair, a backyard patio and garden with perennial and veggie beds and a hammock, a full basement with washer and dryer, room for bike and outdoor gear storage and a bonus extra 'den' area. The common areas are comfortably furnished with a mix of antiques, mid-century garage-sale finds, a few modern things thrown in, and treasures brought back from travels around the world. The tone of the house is sanctuary, laid back, peaceful.

The age range of the household is 20s through 50s - you can be any age, just be nice. There will be four of us sharing the house total. We are currently 3 women - an ESL tutor, a former Peace Corps volunteer now work at the Social Security office, and a pre-med student who works both at OHSU and Townsend's Tea.. One of us works from home part-time during the day. We are pretty independent and lead busy lives, but enjoy sharing our home with each other too, and may find ourselves chatting when we meet up in the kitchen. We enjoy art and cultural events, reading, hiking, kayaking, films, books, backpacking, x-country skiing, playing and listening to acoustic music, bicycling, sustainability, good food/wine, travel. We maintain the liveable and peaceful atmosphere of the house by good energy, good communication and our actions. We do things like take our shoes off on entering the house, solve any problems with good will, do dishes after we cook, take lint out of the dryer after doing the laundry, clean the shower catch after showering - small things that make the house nice for everyone. The house has the feeling of a peaceful refuge. We have guests over occasionally, but we do alot of our socializing outside the house, and the house has the feel of a peaceful place for its inhabitants to enjoy. We are responsible, helpful and nice to each other. Looking for someone compatible with the household.

The $895.00 monthly rent includes all utilities, a high-speed wireless internet connection, and common area house cleaning. We have one otherwise good-natured cat, who asked me to say 'no more pets please.' Only looking for one person for the space due to space considerations of a shared house with shared common areas, kitchen and bathrooms. Flexibility availability between December 1 and January 1. Open to a shorter term rental of December through March 30th, and a longer-term rental is also good if it is a good fit. Email with any questions and some info about you and what you are looking for in your housing search. Thanks!

Modern St. Johns Room in Home
Your space:
The bedroom is 12' x 11' and easily fits a queen bed, has a 5' x 6' walk-in closet with space for clothing and other items. Good light and big windows with views of Pier Park. You have your own full bathroom, however we would like other guests/visitors to be able to use as well from time to time if needed (mostly friends and family visiting in the summer). There is also a reading nook on the 2nd floor if you want to change up the scenery and didn't want to be downstairs.

The right fit :
You would have a steady and secure income (or in a higher ed program or residency), be social and friendly but primarily has their own life, hobbies, friends, etc. , We want someone who knows how to share a communal space without a lot of rules - keeping things separate in a natural way and reasonably tidy (24 hr rule for dishes in sink type of thing). This is not a party house, but we like to be social, so we'd like a housemate who is ok with our visitors (mainly dinner parties but occasionally a weekend long visit from long-distance family/friends, again, usually in the summer). We would of course be ok with you having your own occasional visitors/sleepovers as long as they are not staying for prolonged periods of time. We are flexible around length of stay (can be month to month)- but ideally looking for someone to stay for at least 6 months.

We are asking for $650/month and that would include utilities and wi-fi. A security deposit of $650 is requested on top of the first months rent. Be able to provide verification of income. No pets. Willing to keep 'your' bathroom and public spaces reasonably clean in case it needs to be used by other guests. Be able to provide character references (from previous housemates is a bonus).

We are a husband and wife in our 30s living in a fresh, bright, and comfortable 3 bedroom house just a stone's throw away from Pier Park. The house is a 15 minute walk from the St. Johns shopping/dining areas and the main bus hubs (although the 4 route runs just up the street). We are typically awake 7am-10:30pm on weekdays but stay up later on weekends. We are from the east coast but are warmly embracing the PNW life, enjoying the food and beer culture, the natural beauty and hikes, and the laid back, progressive vibe. One of us works regular hours in mental health and the other is currently in between jobs in the design field. We spend most evenings cooking and watching TV (various series and political satire) so expect us to occupy much of the downstairs communal area most evenings/weekends. We don't mind you tuning into our shows or prepping meals together or in parallel, but we do dwell mostly in the living room area which is an open floor plan with the kitchen. We consider ourselves friendly, happy/funny, sometimes a little lazy, sometimes on the go, thinkers and artists/creators.

Thanks for reading and considering! We look forward to hearing from you.
