Anchorage SPCA
Just FYI the Alaska SPCA ran by Mrs. Christensen deserves a look see at her web site. She's going after the Iditarod and Yukon Quest. But, the biggy for me is she put a link on her site to the hated Margery Clickmans sled dog action coalion out of florida who's never even seen a sled dog race. Here's another animal rights terrorist group using a few bad apples to judge the whole mushing community. They will lie to you and say there not against the small timers just like Clickmen . Last summer I had a discussion threw e-mail with Mrs.Christensen who said we are abusive to our dogs for tethering them. In my opinion the Alaska SPCA has declared war against the sled dog community and deserve everyones attention. So get your heads out of the sand and don't be cowards toward this for money outfit. What good they do (all animals rights groups have a few good things about them) is negated when they pull this kind of crap. They hold peoples animals hostage for ranson and if you can come up with the ranson money you "might" be able to get your animal back. We have to do something by at least informing the public and legal allies of this group. With the influx of people moving here they will only get stronger if there not put in there place NOW. If not the snow ball effect will turn alaska just like most of the lower 48 with more rules and bigger kennel cost and so on. If you didn't see the 20/20 news program on Friday night you missed out. 20/20 has exposed the Texas SPCA for being the frauds they are and went on to say this is what alot of these group are about. That guy from Texas makes 80,000 a year running that not for profit sham. 20/20 might have something on there web site still about it. Of course Alaska SPCA didn't try to hide the 20/20 show but are making excusses for there actions. Scott Purkey |
