Chevy commercial with Ides of March's "Vehicle"

I came across the list of popular music used in commercials, and my favorite mismatch of message was not there -- the Chevy commercial that selectively features "I'm your vehicle, baby."

What they must not have heard were the lines indicating that the song is about a pedophile:

"I'm the friendly stranger in the black sedan,
Won't you hop inside my car.
I've got pictures, candy, I'm a lovable man,
And I can take you to the nearest star."

My second-favorite is the use of Spinal Tap's "Gimme some money" in a bank commercial.

Re: Chevy commercial with Ides of March's "Vehicle"

LOL! That's great. Almost as good as when movies and tv use the Police's "Every Breath You Take" as a love song when Sting himself has said it's about a man stalking a woman. Guess the Ad Men only care about the lyrics that get hear during the 30 seconds. ha ha ha!

Thanks Jim

And thanks again for the info you posted in the guest book!
