Hey Chuck, you mentioned today about purchasing a rescue tube. Since I may be doing some private events, where I would need my own equipment; I was wonder what I might need to consider buying.

Hey Paul!

Yes, I would certainly get a rescue tube. I would get one that is at least 50" in length for max buoyancy. Other things I would consider getting are a first aid fanny pack, extra resuscitation masks, adult, child and infant sized bag-valve-masks, a swimsuit that will identify you as the guard as your guarding a private party.
If you are working a lot of waterfronts you might consider having your own rescue board. Also, if you are guarding a lot of private parties/functions esp. in settings where EMS may not have a rapid response time, consider your own O2 system for emergency use. Remember you would need to be trained in the use of the O2 system. Great question, thanks Paul!
