Girls.
This is quite a different story from LCT. Darcy is no unexperinced man in sensual pleasures, mind you! This is just for you, Darcy's frick fans.SmileyCentral.com
There are three more stories going round in my computer. But I have vowed not to post until they are already finished or close to be. I hate to get hooked with a line of a story only to find that the author is no longer posting it, or takes toooooo long for that matter. So I will do my best, not to fail to post weekly!
Thanks dear friend for all the encouregement you give me! You know I live on it.

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Great start, but I am a little worried. Elizabeth never supplied her last name to Richard. Also, she indicated that she is not free to offer for him, which I took as more than her simply being unable because she is a woman. I am nearly certain that her name is currently Mrs. Elizabeth Collins! Ugh!!! Say it isn't so!

Wow, Eli, this is going to be an interesting one. I, for one, can't wait...

Oh no, I can feel the angst coming. Please do not let Lizzy be Mrs. Collins. Please, Please. I cannot fathom being in the same room with that man, and least of all a bed. Gross, Gross, Gross. Triple eeewwww. Just the thought of "that" and I moved my waste basket closer to the desk.

However I will read your remarkable writing and relish every word, until the happy ending. I Hope.

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Oh, Eli, you misunderstand me! I have no intention of trying to convince you to reveal your plot before it has unfolded. What would be the fun of that? I simply thought I'd let everyone in on the angst that I picked up on that no one had yet mentioned. Come on, don't you want us all a little riled up?

How much angst??? Did you have a troubled childhood or something? (Kidding!) Man, I think you're killing me with both of your WIPs and this was only chapter one! I am an angst lover at heart, but sometimes the aforementioned heart constricts a bit too much when things like the possibility of Lizzy sharing a bed with Toady Collins appear on my computer screen!

Loving it already and can't wait to read on!

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Thanks Sandra! I hope the rest keeps you glued to the screen.
Yes! There will be some reluctance from Darcy's part to accept he cannot get rid of his feelings. This is mainly what happened in the story by Austen. They meet in Hundsford and he realises he is deeply in love and he makes his awkward proposal. Only that here, Elizabeth's prejudice does not include Wickham's telling her Darcy is wicked. Her refusal stems in rather different circumstances.

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

dEAR Kirstin,
After the exultant reaction you guys had over Elizabeth's hoping from Colonel Fitzwilliam 's bed to Darcy's and viceversa(Oh you, puritans)in LCT you cannot expect a repetition of circunstances in my new story. No, I have learned my lesson. No Collins in Elizabeth's bed. I promise!
However. Do not expect me not to fall out of canon from time to time!

Hangmhu: Three lessons, not three chapters. Lesson 1 has not started yet. (You only had a gleam of it at the beginning in a brief flashback)

Okay. I like this. But, I noticed that at the beginning we are not given the gentleman's name. Who is the mystery man giving Elizabeth lessons?

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Eli; Okay I think I finally get it! Richard & Darcy think that Charlotte is Mrs Collins and that's why neither of them asked her to dance. Thats why Lizzy answered Richard's questions about Toady Collins and why Richard was so confused! Also, Lizzy's not wearing the traditional matrimonial cap so there is no clear cut way of knowing who Mrs Collins is. Very sly Eli, very sly! Please throw us a bone....how long is this story and what chapter will the first lesson be taught? Charlotte didn't have to marry Toady for her family's sake, but Lizzy did. Oh my gosh...the worse fate of all has befallen poor Lizzy...how will you fix it? Collins can annull his marriage if its not consummated, can he not? This is going to be a another wild ride...I can't wait to see where you take our favorite couple!!
hangnhu

Feb 28th, 2007 - 10:27 AM
Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

I did not missread anything girl, I know that Richard was suggesing Darcy to marry and I know Richard meant Lizzy, and I know that Darcy meant Lizzy too, however since it was not written I just want to be sure that you will meant Lizzy so that Darcy would turn out to be the guy who says "in two of three more lesson, I'll make a woman out of you" or something like that, you know what I mean, your prologue

I notice you purposely tries to confuse us, but you suceed more in vexing, because what ever confusion, we can always read it again - to get more upset off course.

so, if LCT will be up in a few days, when is this one up next? and I'm sure I ask in some forum or others whether this will take three chapters to complete, because Darcy (yes, prefer the guy to be darcy) said two / three lessons it only logical, three lessons, three chapters right?

no, that just too short and too quick for you, you are master of prolonging our agonies, shall we agree then to 300 chapters? all with around 5000+ words?

awaits your update

I just wanted to have you in suspense for a chapter or two...Many of you fell for it!Good inference Frances. Thanks for all the good points about my being evil keeping you in agony. I adore that stuff.
Over to you Hangnho...Three lessons do not necessarily entail merely three chapters...Lesson one begins in chapter 3 I think, or 4...if I am not mistaken. It will definitely be a long and wild ride, as usual...And you can rely on a happy ending.

LCT is usually posted on Thursdays and AAITSL on Sunday.(with the exception of the past week that was a break for Mrs Darcy )

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

After reading the comments last night, I had to re-read the chapters. Yikes! Elizabeth IS Mrs. Collins!

I have to say "You go, girl" to Elizabeth for stipulating that he would NEVER be "in bed" with her as a stipulation for marriage And for keeping that door locked!!! Poor Mr. Bennet (you were very sly, by the way, Eli) having to listen to Mr. Collins' frustrations over his wife. I'm so glad that Mrs. Collins isn't well liked by Lady C. or Anne. I had the biggest laugh over it when I read it again.

I can't wait for you to write another chapter. This is so good, now that other readers have let "the cat out of the bag". I was confused by it before and thought there were writing errors.

Now, I would very much like for Mr. Collins to have another, more serious, accident. I would also like for poor Charlotte to get asked to dance. But this is very interesting and is a bit of a comedy of errors. How Shakespearian of you, Eli!

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Eeek! I don't know whether to congratulate myself on my perceptiveness of guessing the identity of Mrs. Collins from the first meeting with the Colonel (I guess I am a suspicious soul) or pout over the angst to come. How mortified Darcy will be when he proposes!!! [Bawlling]

I must say, Eli, you are not only sly in your chapters but in your responses to OUR responses! What was it you said? You can promise Mr. Collins and Elizabeth will never share a bed? From now on I will keep my evil speculations to myself, lest you decide to make them true! I hope my early observations didn't ruin the subterfuge for everyone else. I guess I'm too smart for everyone's own good!

Can't wait for Chapter 3. I'm loving this. Now, I'm off to read more LCT!

I'll be brief : EXCELLENT !
I also have greater hopes for this one (compared to LCT), 'cause it looks you won't be tresspassing onto sacred teritory (Lizzy NOT having the moral standing we take as a given)
Anyway, WRITING is very smooth and articulate on both...and just one last thought, have you ever tried your hand at crime novels ? I really think you have waht it takes.... :-)

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Actually, I am very much inspired by one of my betas, Miss BelenP who is at the moment at a thriller, and I am seriously thinking in emulating her later on...At the moment I am at this one , and developing two more romantic ones.(one is a modern story set on the 90ths)But it will take me a good eight months before I could think of start a who-done-it. Meanwhile, I highly recommend "The Eye of the Storm".
I am soo happy you like it! I know, I know...LCT was too much going out of the canon for some tastes. But this is just like me...always against the tide!!

It is very commendable that you have all this strategy planned ahead, and that you have the discipline and smarts to make it become reality ...will you please excuse the platitudes, I'm really tired right now , and I topped it all with a glass of red, it's really time for me to go to bed...

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

Me again...it's the red speaking, sorry :-) I thought about this before and it was bugging me...just a comment .. to me it looks like LCT is written by two different people - the first part I LOVED immensely , all was very belivable and the flashbacks, and the tension, in one word it had "good" angst, if you get my meaning ...the second half, in my oppinion, is not "matching" the first half...not that it's not well written, it's just that each of the halfs deserve another half to complete it and make it consistent ...i think lots of the readers complained because they felt the disconnect in the story halfway...I'm not sure I'm making much sense, only i felt that I can be candid with you, you look like a great sport, and won't be offended when no offence was intended ...to tell you the truth, I consider the first half up there with my all time fan fic favourites...as for the 2nd half, I was not necessarily put off by straying off canon, rather by reducing this dark, encompassing story to a comedy of errors, more or less !
Friends ? Please ?

Re: An Affair in Three Lessons by Elena

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You just drop a bomb on me, how could you!!!!
And I thought there for a moment I was not understanding what you wrote and I have to re-read the passage three times over and the beginning again just to make sure things were correct.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so this is why Darcy & Lizzy are having an affair, such bad behaviours, just when I commented that ' Darcy's character in 'Shades by Rebecca is dark and extremly desirble (well not to you, but I mention the story), you're doing the same thing, (I don't mean the plot off course).

That is, you gotta update this story first, I need to read what happen next, you can't leave it till the other one gets updated, what am I going to do?

..
..
..

ok, I'm a bit calm now, you can update LCT first.
poor Darcy 'weeping'
kill Mr Collin, he must die. what will happen when he finds out. how could things progress this far and no one knows Lizzy is Mrs Collins, why because she doesn't wear a cap. Was Jane with her from the beginning? No, you said she was by herself for a whole month, no wonder Lizzy keeps answering whenever Mrs Collins is address, I thought it was unusual, or did I read that from another story? no, must be this one I don't confuse my readings. I'll check again in anycase I miss something out.

But still, the maids should tell the different between Mrs Collins & her friends, after all they meet her and months priors to the other friends.

No wonder Lizzy is vex from subject of marriage and poor Darcy keeps addressing them, did he not notice when she said 'distance from my family' well something like that. And she never even mention Charlotte this time.

How could you, how could you Eli 'still crying btw'
please try and work on both stories and update soon

I love your work, no matter how horrible you are!
