I have become very fond of Eletists and Genxorcists, despite taking over an hour to read a new episode. (Each panel takes over a minute to load, then a minute or two of appreciation.)

I have two requests:

1) Can we get a little backstory? A few paragraphs explaining the episodes that were wiped out? The character bios are even gone.

2) I know this will offend artistic sensibilities, but could you do something about the file size? I took a 250K panel and reduced it to 50K by lowering the JPEG quality to 70% and using an optimized 256 color pallette. The loss of quality was barely noticable.

Now that I'm done complaining, I like how things are going. Well, not exactly. Millions of dead folks is not something to like. The plot and characters are great. The characters have different motivations, and make different decisions under similar circumstances. I really liked Tangent, and it's too bad that he's dead, but we now have a lot more questions about Axiom. Keep up the good work!

Mike,

Thanks for your kind words. In response to your inquiries:

Back story is coming in both GenXorcists and Elitists. The advent of Jay Hovah has already started the knot unraveling in GenXorcists and belive it or not, Imperion will serve the same purpose in Elitists.

As for the technical issues, each comic episode is now powered by a java.script that preloads all the pages at once. The upside of this is that the comic reads faster. You can go from page to page instantly without them loading individually. The downside, however, is that the initial load time is a bit long ... especially if you're using a dial up connection. So if a page seems missing, that means that all pages haven't loaded yet. Just be patient give it a few seconds (or 30 if you're on dial up) and you'll be all set. This is already in place with Cain and GenXorcists and I'll be upgrading Elitists very soon. Hope that helps.

Thanks again for your support and please keep reading. I think there's some pretty good stuff coming up that you'll get a kick out of!

Re: genxorcist

You're definitely talking about Ric Nguyen. He may be gone, but he isn't forgotten. He may be back in the future. He certainly isn't dead so his return isn't impossible. Well, actually he is sort of dead, but he's ambulatory. As for poor Jay Hovah, he liked himself better with Khaballa, too, but for now at least he's with the GenXorcists. Hopefully he'll grow with this team and will find a place for himself. Thank you for writing, Doug, and I hope you hang around to see what's coming up.
