The Future of GenXorcist.com

Hope everyone had a happy holiday season.

Big changes are in store for GenXorcist.com in 2008. The biggest news is the demise of one series and the reboot of another.

First and alas, I am cancelling CAIN. I know CAIN is my most popular series but it's also the hardest. Every word and image in CAIN is steeped in meaning, subtext and significance. Careful thought goes into each step of producing it and quite frankly, I can't keep it up. I've lost my inspiration and it's starting the show in the quality of the series and I'd rather cancel it than let it go downhill. The archives will stay up, but no new episodes will be produced. That is, unless something dramatically inspires me again. I hope so. In any case, where CAIN's metaphysical, neo-religious musings leave off, GenXorcist.com's new series, the ultra violent GHUD & AEVEIL, will pick up.

Second, I'm considering a major reboot for GENXORCIST. Many readers are dissatisfied with the current storyline and miss the original team of Father Factor, Morgan Tarot, Roddy Sinclair and Ric Nguyen. To be perfectly honest, I've kinda written myself into a corner with the current storyline and every time to try to move it forward it gets less horrific and more super heroish. Basically, the line between THE CABAL and GENXORCIST is becoming too thin for my tastes and I want to get the series back to its supernatural horror origins. The reboot will be darker with more paranormal tone.

As for THE CABAL, I'm very happy with the course of this series and it will continue unchanged into 2008. There will be some major roster shake-ups (especially with the majority of you voting in the GenXorcist.com Poll for Reactor's sister to join the team – I honestly didn't see that one coming). Yes, there will be deaths. Yes, there will be returns of faces we haven't seen in a while. Yes, there will be a marriage ... oops. Um, forget I said anything. Oh, and there's a traitor on the team, too. Then there's the whole ascension to godhood thing, but that's before THE CABAL goes public... Know what? Just keep reading. It's too complicated to go into here.

That's about it. CAIN is done, GENXORCIST reboots, THE CABAL stays the course and GHUD & AEVEAL premieres. Hope you all hang around to see how it all turns out.

As always, I want to hear from you guys so please post any comments or concerns.

Happy New Year!

Noooooooooooooooooo! You simply cannot kill Cain! Ren, we know that Cain is a bear to write. The references both subtle and overt have always be one of the more intriquing parts of the series.

A hiatus, fine.

A respite, OK.

Killing the series? Nah, don't do it. Shelve it if you must. But allow us to think (although misguidely) that there will be another episode.

That's just my two cents.

(and if you're really nice, I'll remove that neural inhibitor that Axiom tricked you into)

I'd never kill Cain! I couldn't! He'd kick my ass! Perhaps "cancel" was too strong a word. Think of Cain as being on an indefinite hiatus. He'll be back. If banishment to Nod couldn't keep him down, I sure can't!
