problem with Tom Raper RV

Have just found out that Tom Raper is not the good, honest, moral, Christian dealership they claim to be. I have an older (89) Gulfstream Conquest with 35,000 miles on it. I took it to Raper's after blowing 5 alternators while on vacation. (Replaced the alternator the 4th time in Wyo.) There we disconected the coach electrical system from the chassis system and drove the rest of the way home and on a trip to New England, some 2500 miles with no problems with the alternator. I took the coach to Raper's to have the electrical system repaired and to have it winterized. I was told that with the replacement of a solenoid and a small switch, the problem was solved. The coach had been winterized and I paid the bill ( almost $300.00 )and left. After driving some 120 miles home, I parked the coach for the winter. In May of this year, I put water in the coach and turned on the pump to find a bad leak at the water heater. I called Raper's and explained the problem and was told they would take a look at the problem and fix the leak. I made an appointment for the work. On going about 10 miles to Richmond for the repair, I found the alternator to be out again. I again called Raper's and was told to get it there and they would take another look at it. After driving the 120 miles with an alternator not working all the time, I left the coach with them for three weeks. They said they would keep me informed of the work they were doing. I didn't need the coach right away as we had already missed an opprotunity to travel by that time. I received no information from Raper's until I had made some 8 to 10 calls leaving my name and number several times. At some point I did talk to a service writer. He was very nice. He told me they had not been able to find the problem. Maybe it was in the chassis? This after 2500 miles trouble free with the coach disconnected! After several more calls and finally getting to talk to the service writer, I made plans to pick up the coach. When I got to Raper's, I was told that they had discussed the problem with an electrical person from a battery company they deal with and that there was a pink wire which was to have only 5-7 volts was showing 12.4 volts. There must be a capacitor in the line causing the problem. That make it a problem with the G M dealer who had done the alternator work ( back in Wyo ). Isn't it strange that a system with an alternator that they say is not working at all will show 12.4 volts going through a pink wire? They also told me the water line was leaking because a fitting and pipe had VIBRATED loose and was not caused by an inadequate winterization. The cost, $339.25. The sum total is that I have a coach that is great except for the fact that I can't take it more than 140 miles from home on an alternator along with a water line that will stay togather for 13 years and over 35,000 miles but vibrates loose after it is winterized. All this from the goo' honest, moral, Christian dealership.
