My dears, I'm so excited to announce that chapter 1 of Jan H's delightful Regency classic "A Double Wedding" has been posted on her mini-site. Enjoy and leave her some love!
Hi Jan
another 2 wonderful chapters, I am sitting here smiling like an idiot, you are such an exceptional writer, I feel as if I am there watching everything.
So Mr Bennett has arrived at what seems an inopportune moment. I am sure Darcy can handle him though. I look forward to reading more, as soon as you can manage it.
Many Thanks
Jo
Jan, this is such an excellent story. I am looking forward to enjoying it again and I envy those who are now reading for the first time. They are in for a treat!
This is such a lovely story. It is light and happy, and I don´t nearly faint. I finished reading so happy. Jan,I need more of your story, and if you will write some angst, please post many chapters

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
One very angry father coming up...
Ooh it's such a delight to read something like this. It's easy to picture the two of them riding together. Darc is so full of joy and happiness that Elisabeth is finally his (except for one tiny little detail: the consent of her father...:) it's always so great to cathch a glimpse of that young man carefree and in love.
I'm looking forward to this "how do I handle my future father-in-law after I have spoiled his most beloved daughter's repution" for dummies lesson one!
Mr. Darcy of Pemberley in Derbyshire, what do you have to say for yourself?
More, please!!!

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Jan,
Thankyou for yet another fabulous chapter in this story - I love Mr Bennet's reaction to seeing Elizabeth snuggled up to Darcy on his horse - what a sight indeed !!!!!.
Good to see him improve his fatherly behaviour after his youngest's elopement - poor Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam to be the bearer of his displeasure. !!!!!!
And I was wondering what happened to Darcy too! Now all is well

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Love the scene with Darcy and MR B and Mr B saying he saw some "hoyden sowing his wild oats with some village maid" only to discover it is Darcy and his Elizabeth-- that is the funniest Mr B declaration ever! Great story -- but aren't all JanH stories excellent?!

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. I'm glad you like this little story. I'll warn you that there's a little bit of angst toward the end, but it gets resolved quickly.
And thanks again to dear Renee for providing a lovely home for all my fan fiction.

And thanks again to dear Renee for providing a lovely home for all my fan fiction.
My pleasure, dear Jan, I'm just thrilled to host your lovely stories.
Wow, Mr. Bennet needs to get over himself. He is getting on my nerves. Does he not know that the more he pushes them to stay apart, the more they will be determined to be together? Foolish man!!! Surely there is someone else who needs his attention more. I loved it when Darcy wouldn't let go of Elizabeth even though it was a little disrespectful of Mr. Bennet's presence. Thanks for a great chapter.
A lovely chapter, such fun. I hope that Mr Gardner lets Mr Bennett know about what Darcy did for Lydia and Wickham, so he can understand how good Darcy really is.
Many Thanks
Jo
WOW! That was unexpected. Just as Mr. Bennet and Darcy both decide to try to get along better, this happens. I see Elizabeth's point. And, of course, we are privy to the conversation she had with Jane. But what about Darcy's relatives? This could get sticky. Thanks for the great writing. I really expected them to settle their argument and get caught up with each other and then get caught by Mr. Bennet. Finally, my favorite last line. Please, post soon!!!! Cindy

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
So our Lizzie is very cross and so is Darcy. Perhaps Mr Bennet with his new found information could pour a little oil on very troubled waters.
Looking forward to reading more of this enthralling story.
Many Thanks
Jo
I forgot how good this story is! Jan, you have such a gift for writing. I can see both sides of the argument and can't wait to be reminded how it will play out.
Jan, I thought I had read this story already so hadn't been reading the posted chapters. I took a look today and realized this was an entirely new, tasty morsel (at least to me it's new!). I feel almost guilty for having been able to read so many wonderful chapters in one sitting. What an interesting situation Elizabeth and Darcy find themselves in....Now, just as Mr. Bennet seems prepared to withdraw his objections to Darcy he will likely come home to a distraught Elizabeth and an absent Darcy. Guh! Great writing, Jan!

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Oh no! They have to part on such terms! But oh yes, I do like it when Jan, you described their conflicts and difficulties with each other and future in-laws in such realistic manner. It could happen to any of us . Now we'll have to see how they are going to resolve this!

Thank you so much, Cindy, Jo, Lucy, Rita, and Gio! I loved your comments.
I know the closing development was unexpected. Remember, this is the first fan fiction I wrote, and I didn't know enough back then to foreshadow. The next chapter is the first angsty adventure I attempted, and I found that I liked doing it. Now, look at me - I've created a monster!

Oh dear Mr. Darcy is upset and Lizzy couldn't be persuaded otherwise I hope Mr. Bennet will interfere this time in Darcy's side.

It has been two weeks since the last posting. I think it is time for another posting, don't you? Please??
Thank you so much, Jan, for this wonderful chapter. This was full of angst but I hope the next one will be full of Darcy and Elizabeth's apoligies. However, with Lizzy being so cold and wet and scratched-up, I fear more angst. Post soon!!! Thanks! Cindy

That's a harrowing escape for Lizzy! I felt both of their despair, and now after the rain I'm sure everything is going to be alright yea, Jan?

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Jan!!! You nearly killed our heroine!! Thank God for Darcy's timing....Phew...I need something warm to drink, I'm as chilled as Elizabeth after this ordeal.
I believe some serious making up is about to take place should they survive the elements.

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Oh Wow, what a chapter, you actually had me on the edge of my seat. I do hope that Elizabeth will be okay, that goodness for Darcy.
Really, really can't wait for the next chapter, excellent stuff.
Many Thanks
Jo
That was a terrible cliffhanger, wasn't it! I'd forgotten that I almost let Lizzy drown - well, I didn't actually forget it, I just forgot that I ended the chapter at that place. Maybe I'd better read this thing again myself. What's the name of that memory pill you can get over the counter - gingko bobo or bingko go go? Whatever - I think I need some.

Re: A Double Wedding by Jan H
Jan,
How could you not remember Lizzy almost drowning? Oh, please let them work it out. This is too much.
Awww...poor Darcy, a squirming, cuddly Elizabeth pressed right up against him. Sainthood indeed!
I'm happy that they were able to talk a little...it doesn't appear that everything has been resolved but some dialog is better than none. At least their affection for one another isn't in doubt.
