The Courtship Of Eddie's Father

It's not always easy to persuade youngsters to watch older films, but last night I somehow managed it.I succeded in persuading my 11 year old daughter Marisa to view 'The Courtship Of Eddie's Father'along with my wife & myself.
Of course she enjoyed it immensly,I enjoy many of the movies of today as well as the older ones.If the kids of today only realised (as well as many in their 20s & 30s who just will not watch old movies)they could have the best of both worlds.I suppose my daughter does see a few because she has an older than average father.Does I wonder Ron Howard Who was brilliant as Glenn's son keep in touch with his screen dad.

Re: The Courtship Of Eddie's Father

Hi Eric,
It's good to hear that your 11-year old enjoyed 'The Courtship of Eddie's Father.' I do know one young person who loves old movies and would rather watch them than anything else. Ok, ok I admit, it's me. I'm only 19 years old and I can sit in front of the tv all day watching TCM. Them classics hooked me, now hopefully they can get more youngsters to join me. ;) Take Care!

Re: Re: The Courtship Of Eddie's Father

Hi Stephanie,Good on you for not closing your young eyes to the older films, today's pictures have all sorts of technical wizardry and surround sound, often played to loudly even when there are only a handfull of people in the cinema,it's sounds much louder in a near empty auditorium. All these special & sound effects cannot make a poor movie good.
Not that there aren't any good ones around these days (I'm a semi retired projectionist,so I see most of the new releases)but I reckon a good script story and acting are more important.
Best regards
Eric

I agree! Youngsters of today could learn so much from the re-run tv series of yesterday
