A Message for Peter Ford and Family

Peter,

I once sat down in front of my computer to write a note to your father and post it on this website. I never thought it would receive any attention. I remember I titled it "Generation X'ers Love You Too Mr. Ford!". I just wanted to share with him that he has been a wonderful part of my life. I wanted to let him know that his movies have made me laugh, cry, love and that his life was awe inspiring. I visited the web-page on a different occasion and I found a response to the message that I had previously posted. It was from your dad. It took my breath away! To most people that wouldn't be considered a big deal, but to me it was one of the happiest, most touching events of my life. He had actually taken time to send me a message. Wow, what an honor! I don't know of any celebrities who would do that today. I think I might have been the last person he addressed on this message board personally. I guess Barbara would know that better.

Peter, in this difficult time, there is little that anyone can say to ease the pain of your loss. Please know that you and your family are in the thoughts of millions of people. The world is in mourning for the loss of such a wonderful actor, humanitarian, war hero and patriot. But, deep down, it also rejoices at the legacy left behind. Glenn Ford will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the films that captured his spirit. Thanks for the memories.

Love always,

Tammy Baez

Hi Tammy,

Since you know when you posted your message and could scroll back to find it, it would be interesting to read the response your received if you could cut/paste it at this new post you made.

thanks,

Desiree

Re: A Message for Peter Ford and Family

Hi Desiree,

I posted that message back on April of 2004. If I recall correctly, it was in the beginning of that month. Unfortunately, I can't scroll that far back. I don't know if Barbara would still be able to retrieve that infomation.
I do remember that Glenn's response was only 2 sentences long, but that was good enough for me. Basically, what he said was that he liked my generation and was happy to hear that I appreciated his work.

When was the last time Mr Ford visited this board?

It would be interesting if some of his old posts could be archived.

I also managed to come across some of Peter's old buletins:

Re: Re: Re: A Message for Peter Ford and Family

Thank you so much for this link! I have a few of the later bulletins that I printed out when they were sent to us, but not the first few. Now I can save and reread these.
Thanks again Simon

Perhaps we could have all the bulletins restored for all to see?
