The Long Way Home (Family Holvak)

Hello, I hope you Glenn Ford fans can help me out. (Don't worry, I'm a GF fan too although you all don't know me.)

I was thrilled to see The Long Way Home (The Family Holvak movie) listed at TVnow.com for broadcast on October 14 on Lifetime, as I have always wanted to see it, but when I checked further I saw that the TVnow.com listing was in error; the movie airing at that time is going to be a 2001 TV movie that happens to have the same title.

So I'm wondering if anyone here can help me in finding a copy of The Long Way Home (Family Holvak)? I would be ever so grateful. Thank you.

I miss Glenn too... just watched him and the wonderful William Holden in Texas. They were both so young.

Re: The Long Way Home (Family Holvak)

Hi Jean,

I saw your post and was so disappointed. I noticed this coming up on tvnow.com and made a note about it a few weeks ago. I was excited about seeing this Family Holvak two part tv episode. I just checked what you said by looking at the details for this show at the Lifetime network, essentially the synopsis, of the program, and it is a different version as you said with different actors. I emailed Lifetime and asked for clarification mentioning what we see at tvnow.com.

Thanks much for telling us. It's a shame if true. I don't know where to get the TV series, there were only six episodes. I was hoping Lifetime was going to air them !

thanks,

Desiree

Re: The Long Way Home (Family Holvak)

Hi Jean,

Also, The Long Way Home is not the Family Holvak Movie. The pilot movie is called "The Greatest Gift" (1974). There were 6 tv episodes that followed. Two of the episodes were two-parters. The Long Way Home was the first tv episode in 1975 and was also a two-parter. You can see these listed on imdb.

Regards,

Desiree
