I watched The Fastest Gun Alive yesterday (8/25) on TCM. I saw this movie when it first came out in 1956 and it is still one of my favorite Glenn movies. I am a westerns fan and have enjoyed all of Glenn's westerns, but I believe this one is my favorite (if it is possible to have a favorite).
Upon nearing the anniversary of Glenn's passing,I must say, I think it is sad that the message board hasn't had many posts in the past year. It used to be such an active board. I am not often a poster, but I have enjoyed reading all the comments in the past.
In closing I will just say, Glenn, you are not forgotten!!!
You are so right, Mike and I agree with you
that "Glenn" was a great actor and a wonderful
personality.
Unfortunately, the message forum went down
and I am concerned that this is becoming worser
with the years. All that happened after "Glenn's"
death, by tomorrow a year from today.
Times are changing, people also - so, let us
hang on to the good old memories.
There are some of us who check this board often to chime in and reply. I do that. True, people don't do it as much, but I think if someone posted an interesting thought or thread or question, people will chime in. Maybe we can all put our thinking caps on and come up with those topics.
I saw Fastest Gun Alive for the first time and was truly entertained. Although the exposition of his change from 'mild-mannered storekeeper' to 'bitter gunslinger' was a little quicker than I thought believable (excuse me for being a critic), GF's performance as usual was top notch and the story overall was quite engaging.. The villians were well done.
As to the lack of recent posts here, if that book ever comes out (what's the holdup?) that should kick start the chatter a bit...
Hi Judith, You are so right about times and people changing and I wonder if it's for the best!!! But yes, we'll just have to hang on to the good ole memories.
