Splendid Starling in Bessacarr

On Wednesday, 13.04.05 I saw a brightly coloured bird with 2 other starlings on a lawn in Bessacarr. I couldn`t find it in the "unusual visitors" section of any British bird guide, but have now identified it as a Splendid Starling, which is a native of East Africa.
I presume it was probably an escapee. I have not seen it since.
