I just finished reading 'Symptoms of Withdrawal', and felt compelled to tell you how much I enjoyed and was moved by it. You have a uniquely powerful voice; simultaneously intimate and observant, forthwright and compassionate, humorous and humane.Your story is an important one, and I greatly admire the courage and candor you show throughout.
As a psychotherapist, I have had a good deal of professional experience with addiction and recovery. Thank you for giving me added, and useful insight to continue to help others with. On a personal note, I have my own history of family turmoil and personal demons. Your story is a telling reminder of the universality of these issues, no matter what last name or lineage one carries.
