Mayors from authorities along the length of the Thames gathered along with river users and river campaigners to hear about the origins of the Drinkable Rivers concept, the experience of river users navigating pollution challenges and testing being done. We also heard from Kingston University who are in the process of setting up a PhD to investigate water quality and great discussions took place to consider steps that local authorities, user groups and residents could take to improve water quality.
