i heard this young spanish fusion bass player, it's very different musically and technically... but sincerelly i prefer monino's sound and this jazz way...monino seems to me deeper and poetic....it is only my modest opinion .

my name is Charlie Moreno. I'm a bass player from the Canary Islands, but I live in Barcelona.
I'm 27 and besides of my first record "so lonely", where I play mostly ORIGINALS, I do a lot of producing.
I love Jaco's music since I heard the very first note he played in the very first record I bought with his music.

I'm just a french man who lives also in Canada, I'm a fan of Jaco's playing and music, I recently bought the CD of Monino 'Around Jaco' in a shop... Franckly speacking I'm not disapointed, the album is original in its orchestration and all musicians are fantastic, specially Monino, who is really an inspired man, not only a 'technical' bassist, as you can hear many ones... here you find some kind of a 'grooving poetry' ! i think this bass player is a "martian" who included the spirit of jaco without copying it!
For me, monino is an real artist on his bass five strings.

Yes, it is very nice to hear the inspirations Jaco created interpreted, and then delivered in an honorable way. Thank you, Frederic, and the many others who do same.

It makes me smile to hear the many versions of, for instance, POT on YouTube, done by different ages.

In life Jaco brought musical passion to many of us, his death left seeds of opportunity and aspiration for those who cherish what he produced, and choose to keep it blooming.
