Jaco, a household name...

Tomorrow, November 7, here in the USA we will be voting on many issues, and candidates. As always the media is saturated with the topic, so it is kinda cute that Jaco was used as an example in an explanation of a ballot question:

"We support Question 2, which introduces the futuristic sounding "fusion voting". No, this is not voting for Jaco Pastorius vs. Chick Corea. It simply means that small parties can get on the ballot and endorse candidates who just happen to have been endorsed by major parties as well."

Due to his fans steadily putting out there how much he means to them, and how he has influenced their lives personally and musically because of the bodies of work he has created while he was on this earth, as well as several posthumously released CDs of his playing during different eras, all equally as important, and the many tribute sites that honor him in an unconditional way, slowly but surely, Jaco is entering the arena of being a household name.

Re: Jaco, a household name...

It's definitely a household name in my home. Isabel is currently putting together sentences. She learned "Jaco" about 4 months ago. Whenever I point to Jaco's picture and say "who's that", she says "Jaco" and smiles.
