That is really sad news. My experience with Jaco associates has put me in contact with many very talented people, some extraordinarily nice people, and some real characters. Charlie would have to be near the top of all three categories. In his stories about Jaco he always spoke with an authentic affection. I dont know why but he and I really hit it off. We spoke on the phone many times. He would sometimes email me and ask me to give him a call, to talk about all manner of things. He put me on him email lists and would often send out corny musician jokes, holiday messages, or updates on musicians who he had played with over his life. I feel very privileged to have been able to get to know him, and will miss him.
Some cool photos, and soundbytes from them days (Jaco's Amelia)..as well as links to Allyn Robinson (great drummer, was with Jaco on WC & CCR)and the Bonerama band with no bass player yet with a funky bassline...on horn!
WOW! Those yummy sounds by the band and da bassman! Also the original Three Views of A Secret tune written by Charlie Brent, title "stolen" by Jaco for his 3 Views tune. :o)
anyone getting this message, please reply.....I knew Charlie years ago......
he was a special friend.....sorry to hear of his passing; I knew him when
he was the director of the C.C.Riders and wondered many timeswhat
happened to him? Was he ill? Please let me know. Thanks
Hi Donna, sorry for any sadness you are experiencing. Please contact Allyn Robinson, either via www.myspace.com/drumncook or I can email you his email address.
