Wouldn't it be cool if Toots could hang around for a day and play a couple of tunes with the big band?
Caught the Richard Bona Band in Santa Cruz a couple of days ago. They did a beautiful version of "Three Views Of A Secret." It's always neat to hear someone keep Jaco's legacy alive. I'm not a bassplayer myself, but Richard seems (to me) like such an elegant player. He makes it look easy, kind of like the Joe Dimaggio of bassplayers. :-)
Bona is a well-versed musician with vocal and finger chops. From the beginning of his career he has included an homage to Jaco during most, if not all of his performances, or sit-ins, Richard embraces the fact that his inspiration began with him.
