Perfect turnout, amazing speeches, sweet vibes at city hall last night. Amongst several wonderful speakers, Ms. Carol, mayor 3 x voted in during the early 70's, then served as commissioner for 16 years, came out in chilly weather while not feeling all too well, to speak on behalf of Jaco Park. Those who had expressed concern about Jaco's contributions, especially the latter years, did not stand up to voice their oppositions, it was truly overwhelming what was said by those who showed love for Jaco.
After the public spoke their minds, the commissioners discussed publicly, and unanimously stated that they all will vote "yes" on November 28, 2007.
YESSS, PEOPLE, JACO DID IT! We will have a Jaco Pastorius Park in Oakland Park, Florida, a triangle wedged in between Dixie Highway and the railroad tracks. :o)
And there is more, the City has taken this very seriously, they discussed introducing Jaco into the schools early on, so that the children grow up educated about the name behind the Park they live near.
Oh, them sweet sounds...!!! THANK YOU ALL SO, SO, SO, SO, SO... MUCH !!!
It may certainly apply on others as well, but right now it's all about Jaco!
