Jaco had a Cachao & Potato record he listened to, he very much liked both musicians.

Did the three legends ever meet?
Cachao lived in south Florida quite a while.

What other upright players did Jaco admire?

Yes, they met, R.

Scott LaFaro
James Jamerson
Mingus
Ray Brown
Ron Carter
Paul Chambers
Jack Bruce (started career on double bass)

probably missing a few...
