Re: RIP Louis Bellson

If you ever get the chance to hear the song Jay Leonard wrote and performs about his night playing with Louis Bellson you'll really get a drift of where Louis was at. It's on one of Jay's solo CD's and is called Louis Bellson.
As the story in the tune goes the guy running the dance, the Louis Bellson band is hired to play, asks the band to play softly, Louis rips into a ten minute long and loud drum solo.
And then Louis tells the guy; "When you hire Louis Bellson you get Louis Bellson."
Louis was a king.
