Re: River Festivel
Bedford River Festival Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July Thanks to those who have already asked to help run the Bedfordshire Rugby stand on the day.
Clubs participating are Bedford Blues, Bedford Junior Blues, Bedford Athletic, Bedford Queens, Biggleswade and Kempston.
Proposals include the following:
• 1 x touch pitch for ‘showcase’ type matches between local clubs (U12-U14s)
• 1 x touch pitch for general participation ‘pitch up and play’
• Tug of war
• Skills sessions lead by Bedford Blues players
• Rugby Assault course (SAQ set up, tackle shields etc.) to be timed and top 3 for the day win a prize.
• Target Practice – Hookers throwing net, Scrum half pass target etc.
• Scrum machine
Bedford Blues will 'take the lead' as they have the kit and tent etc, this worked well last time.
Biggy's aim is to use the weekend for "Whole Club Recruitment". We will have flyers based on the wording from the 'On The Up' advert in Rugby World and also to push the Saracens coaching days ( all other clubs are OK with this)
