Yung players at Biggleswade Rugby Club have been given a boost with a grant for £250 from UK Power Networks to buy equipment for next season. The energy firm donated the money after employee Noel Jukes who is a volenteer at the club and helps out the coaches with the youngsters applied for a grant as part of the company's Team Sports Award scheme
UK Power networks runs the scheme to encourage staff to take part in community nased projects that promote health and fitness. Noel, who works ans a performance manager with the electricity disribution company has been involved with the rugby club for around a year since his son Morgan joined the U7s team.
He said " We're very grateful to UK Power Networks for this sponsorship which will be enormously helpful. We are planning to buy some new equipment for next season and also a gazebo so that when the weather is bad the younger children will have somewhere to shelter.
Biggleswade Rugby Club caters for all ages from U6 upwards and teams from the club play in matches throughout the region.
