Well despite the weathers best attempts, I think it's fair to say we had great weekend at the inaugural Biggy Mini Family Fun Camping Weekend.
Firstly a huge thank you to our Club Chairman Steve 'Stan' Matthews and his Partner Bev. Without Stan and the Senior Club's say-so we could not have gone ahead with the camping weekend; and I don't know of many Rugby Clubs where the Chairman and his Partner literally roll up their sleeves and run the Kitchen etc to ensure us members have a great experience. Thank you Stan and Bev from a hugely appreciative Minis section; we know that was a lot of late-nights and very early mornings and a lot of hard work in the middle.
Secondly, without all you campers and day visitors, whether you stayed for 3 days or 3 mins, the weekend clearly would be nothing. You created a great atmosphere and really made for an enjoyable time throughout.
Thirdly, a personal thank you goes to two people who helped with some of the preparation for the weekend as well as giving up their time to provide the pampering services that were on-hand Saturday & Sunday - Thank you Dave and Lynn (Lynn was the Pampering provider in case any of you were worried it was Dave!!!)
I think we managed to adapt to the weather and still managed to cram in enough to keep most of us entertained all weekend.
Friday night / Saturday morning saw the worst of the weather and the outside bar became "The Riverside" for a little while but fortunately we seemed to have pitched the tents in the right places and I think the tents remained on dry-ish land all weekend. (Certainly not flooded anyway.)
We managed to fit in; Six-A-Side football (Which was great to see us joined by members of the 1st team also.)- A Treasure Trail (With some holding speed above acuracy!)- Rugby Netball - Hit the Crossbar (Well done Lynn and Chris especially)- Badminton (in a Squash Court) - Table Tennis (In a Squash Court too) - Table Football etc, plus some indoor games such as Jenga and 'Butt-Head' (I think that was it's name anyway) and I know some of you honoured the Rugby Club tradition of waiting for the Kids to go to bed and then getting in a few drinking games as well! (Noisy Tent next to me anyway Mr Jukes!!!)
We even managed a Movie Night on Saturday night (once Stan worked out the IT bits!) watching Iron-Man on the big-screen, with sweets galore for some.
I actually even managed to get sun-burnt on Sunday, which I'm proud of for once!!!
With the Club's permission, as we had such a good time, despite the weather, we'd really like to make this an annual fixture, so hopefully we'll make the arrangements a little in advance for 2013 and give everyone enough warning to minimise any excuses for not coming next year...(Stick the same weekend in your diary for now just in case.)
For those that went this year and enjoyed yourself, then please do spread the word...For those that went this year and didn't enjoy themselves SSSSSHHHH!!!
Mike / Martin - I hope we didn't ruin your fields too much and thanks for making the house and grounds so good that they can accommodate us for such weekends.
My favourite bit was the cooked breakfasts by the way!!!
(I was there when the Biggy Oak Tree split under the weight of the rain!)
Thanks everyone and hope to see you next year.

Thanks to Biggies for inviting me, it was a pleasure.
One day when we have more time I'll show you just how to score on the cross-bar challenge........
Well done for arranging such a fun weekend and for raising a significant amount of funds for the club in the process.
