Yeah right, Ms. Action and Reaction!

I thought it exceedingly funny... and naughty!

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Has anyone seen the movie Amazing Grace? I wish the director of P&P3 had asked Ioan Gruffudd to play Mr Darcy (no offense to MM fans -- he is handsome and endearing and all that. I just think IG would suit my image of Mr Darcy better).

Here are two of IG photos on imdb:

Oh, Renee, that was a hoot! You made my day!

Now, in a similar vein, you have to see the "Mr. Darcy -- I'm Too Sexy" video, with the inimitable song from Right Said Fred, on YouTube:

Trailer for Amazing Grace on youtube
Amazing Grace

I've tagged your links, Marie, thanks for sharing. But is there another one for the trailer on youtube? This link leads to a login.

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Renée, Thanks for tagging the links. As for the youtube link, your tag looks like it got corrupted somehow in the process: I clicked property of the tag and it comes back as:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q6Cv5P9H9qU%20%3Cbr%20/%3EEmail%20mariecarri@gmail.com

but the correct link should only have the first half:

Would you give it a try again? (In addition to the actor, it also happens to be a very good movie.) Thanks.

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Renée, while we are at youtube, have you seen this one (Bridget Jones interviews Colin Firth)? It's a lot of fun: these two are amazing actors.

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Marie, I'll check out the links asap. Haven't had time to check out this thread for a while, sorry.

Basia asked me to post this picture of Hugh Jackman... He qualifies as a Mr. Darcy, doesn't he? ] ]

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Renee, thank you. But I thought I was suppose to do it by myslef. Now I have to find a new picture

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

And I thought you thought it a bit too complicated... Silly me, of course not, smart woman like you!

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

It was such a fun to read these old posts and the different opinions about Mr Darcy...

Well, when there are no more news posts, one has to content herself with the old ones!...

I was browsing this thread myself, and I think I ought to make it sticky again. It's such fun!

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Okay, he might have been a fantastic Mr Darcy, but he's too old now... My new hero: Ralph Fiennes.

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

I wonder how old Ralph is? Around the same as CF do you think?

I'm still partial to CF as Mr. D, but think Matthew MacF is great - just finished watching Little Dorrit and he was so good in that as Arthur. Such a sweetie! Did anyone else catch it?

Ralph's 46, so he could make an excellent Mr Bennet.

And, yes, MM is fabulous. I've seen Little Dorrit and fell in love with the story, and with Arthur in particular.

Here he is!

GAH!!! How in the world did I miss THIS thread!?!

Thank you all for these wonderful pictures. You've all made my day (including Ralph Fiennes.. who did a great job playing a character I didn't like in The Duchess).

Yes, dearest Renée, I agree that RF could've played a good Darcy.

Cheers,
Julia B

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

My favourite Mr. Darcy is David Rintoul from the 1980 version of P&P, which gave me my first impressions of the story. The production quality was pretty poor (it was 1980) but the actors were excellent and the characters and story very true to the book. When I read P&P fan fiction, i tend to see this Mr. Darcy in my mind (hope i get this picture posting thing right. if not, please google "David Rintoul" and look for the man who looks really good with a top hat and cravat).

I was glad to have discovered it again when browsing the forum. Yesterday evening I watched a very impressive but disturbing movie with Ralph Fiennes: Spider. He's a genius. For once both my husband and I agree on the talent of an actor. Except for The Avengers and Maid in Manhattan, he never chooses easy parts. He saved The Duchess for me. He does so little but it has such an impact. Less is more to him, definitely. I wish I could see him on stage in London one fine day. *sigh*

I've never seen this adaptation, LP. But I've heard it's very true to the book. Hope to get a chance one day.

Re: Post your favourite Mr Darcy picture here! :)

Look What I have found! Peter Cushing, master of horror films, as Mr Darcy! http://madaboutdarcy.blogspot.com/
Not my favourite...but very interesting!
