Just finished a good story - had a hard time putting it down and thus abandoned a few chores this weekend.
Check it out!
I do believe "No More Tears" caused me to miss a lot of chores, too, Maura! It was excellent.
I would like to recommend this utterly beautiful story called Silk and Ivory. It's really touching!
I just finished reading "Some Like it Wild" and it was terrific, so I thought I'd pass on the link.
Basic description: Elizabeth dresses up as a man to escape being forced to marry Mr. Collins.
I second Wendi's recommendation! Some like it wold is a GREAT story!
Thanks for the recommendations, my dears!
I just want to recomend Aydon's The Great Game!!! I usually don't like E&D having sex before marraige, but wow....what a story. It is diffinetly on my top 10 list of FF.
Thanks Ayden for such a passionate read. I love LOve and Angus...makes a good story in my book.
Just finishing up a good one (I don't think it's been mentioned here, but I confess that I didn't check all the older posts).
Obligations of Love and Duty by Ali (she's a very strong writer and her Darcy is just lovely).
Just wanted to share a beautiful story I just spent the WE reading. Love and Other Accidents by Paperclipz over at ff.net. It is a very well written and realistic modern P&P. the plot is both original and faithfull to JA's, it's intense and witty. I especially loved how the author wove some very beautiful poetry in the text, made me discover a breathtaking piece by Margaret Atwood. definitely on its way to my hard drive.
It's not new, was completed in 2006, i stumbled upon it by chance and I don't remember seeing rec'ed before. hope you enjoy.
Thanks, girls, for your recommendations. They sound fabulous. Will check 'm out asa I have a little bit more time.
I would like to recommend Very Improper Behavior.
It is a very amusing and sweet story and I must say one of the best ones I've read.
Thanks for the recommendation, Izabela
Loved that story, Izabela! Perfect! Thanks for the recommendation.
OK, so this one is a story in progress but it is so crazy good that I cannot keep from recommending it anyway. And it holds a certain appeal, to read it chapter by chapter and wait anxiously for another one. This is seriously one of the best stories ever. And funny, too. And excruciating and intense and.. ahh. Just read it.
One Thread Pulled
Thanks for the recommendation, Izabela!
I am wrapping up a wonderful P&P sequel called 'A Fitzwilliam Legacy' - you can find it here:
Beware that it is long so like me, you will likely start to feel that the characters are like old friends and you will dread the story coming to an end.
I LOVE that fan fiction is coming out in Kindle format. Thanks for letting us know...
Hi Izabela, I am totally hooked on the FF you recommended called "One Thread Pulled" on fanfiction.net. Just want to tell you thanks!
Just wanted to recommend a piece I just finished. It's called "A Fair Prospect" by Splatt. The plot is a "what if" Elizabeth and Darcy had been thrown together repeatedly in London right after Darcy's botched up proposal. It introduces a few interesting new characters and although the time frame of the story is short, about two weeks, the pace is fast and entertaining.
One might feel that the character's feelings undergo fairly quick transformations but the characterisation is convincing.
It's a long and really well written story alternating Elizabeth's and Darcy's points of view, definitely on the romantic side but, I felt, very enjoyable.
Also the story seems to based more on the 2005 film than the novel, It did not bother me.
you can find it at Pen and Ink if you have not read it yet:
Another rec, so soon after the last one but if you haven't read it yet you should REALLY read Juliet R's remarkable Miscommunication.
It's a modern, novel-length, P&P retelling with a rather inspired initial plot twist.
The characters will become so familiar that you'll be sad to leave them (luckily it will take you while to get there).
you can find it at AHA and in pdf format at the Pemberley Library.
Where can I find Pemberley library username and password? thanks!
I want to recommend this story because it is so much FUN!!! It is PG-13 so far and it is a modern comedy.
You will have a very healthy dose of laughter every week and a good share of romance too.
Barbara is posting regularly and her muse is like Tom&Jerry - full with crazy ideas.
