Maidenhead Craft Beer Festival to return with bigger line-up over May bank holiday
The second Maidenhead Craft Beer Festival will return over the late May bank holiday weekend with an expanded line-up of brewers and a dedicated cidery on offer.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, at Stripes Bar in Maidenhead United Football Club’s York Road ground.
Co-organiser Dave Haywood, who also co-owns A Hoppy Place, said the festival aims to celebrate the independent beer scene and provide a lively start to the summer in Maidenhead.
“If you enjoy a pub beer garden through the summer, then you’re going to have a lovely time at our beer festival,” he added.
“The people who were there last year will be familiar with how it’s set up – the same space and the same good luck we had with the weather last year.
“We’re expanding the brewery count from 10 to 12 and adding a small element of cask beer as well as keg beer this year.
“We’re having a dedicated cidery because we took on feedback from last year that cider drinkers didn’t feel there was enough choice, so we’re expanding that.
“Otherwise, it’s going to be a similar event to last year – good beer, good food, good music and hopefully a nice, fun weekend.”
Rather than being run primarily by volunteers, the craft beer festival will see brewers themselves pouring their drinks and speaking directly with visitors.
