Iceland to close its doors in Maidenhead's Nicholsons Centre next month (Edited by Author)
A popular food retailer has announced it will be closing its store in the Nicholsons Centre in May.
Iceland has been serving the community from its store next to Superdrug for a number of years.
However, due to the upcoming re-development of the centre by Areli, the store is set to close on Saturday, May 23.
Areli and Tikehau Capital were given conditional approval by the Royal Borough in November for the re-development, after the decision was deferred at a meeting in October.
The re-development looks to demolish the Nicholsons Centre to make way for a new mixed-use scheme with shops, restaurants, offices, hundreds of flats and a new ‘Pineapple’ multi-storey car park.
Last month, tenants were sent a letter by management agents KLM Asset Partners to inform them that the centre will officially close on Tuesday, June 9.
An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the Iceland Foods store at the Nicholsons Centre in Maidenhead will be closing on the 23rd of May due to the redevelopment of the shopping centre.
