I found the piece about Kerrew interesting. However, on visiting Noto, in the province of Syracuse, Sicily, on one may find that the patron Saint is San Corrado (Korraw, Kurrew, Kerrew...). The people there expalined to me that the siant arrived in Sicily on his mantle from Malta after the people "revolted" against him. I even saw his remains in the cathedral, although there is no written evidence it is his, since documents of the era were lost in fire. In on eof the churches I visited in Noto I saw also an old painting of the saint fleeing Malta on his mantle.
I think there is a connection and he did not die at Qala. It will be interesting to do some research.
