While one appreciates the effort of the person who wrote the material of this site, it is regrewttable that the text not only contains numerous spelling mistakes and wrong use of vocabulary (e.g. "romantic" instead of "romance" (the languages deriving from Latin but also mistakes of historical fact such as that Sir Anthony mamop was the last Governor upon independence (1964)when this happened upon Malta changing from a monarchy to a republic (1974) and that Count Roger was connected with the Spanish crown. This site needs extensive revision.

Re: this website

Dear mc,

thank you for being sincere in your review of the website. I have searched the keywords 'romantic' and 'mamo' (via the Google searchbar on the homepage)and found the following areas requiring correction:-

'Romantic' was indeed erroneously used in place of 'Romance'. You were correct. Changes have already been made to the two entries found in our page: *The Maltese Language (Part 1)*

Moreover, Sir Anthony Mamo did actually change status from Governor for the British Crown to President of the Republic in 1974. You were correct here too, and should we find any reference to his becoming President in 1964, this will be changed.

In fact, to avoid ambiguity and incorrectness, the text in the (same) page, i.e. *The Maltese Language (Part 1)* where reference was made to the fact that independence was attained by Malta in 1964 ... during his term as Governor ... which was incorrect, has been altered.

You may have noted that our pages entitled: *British Governors in Malta* (http://www.my-malta.com/history/BritishGovernors.html) and *Our Rich History (Part 2)* (http://www.my-malta.com/history/main_AD2.html) correctly show that Sir Anthony Mamo was Governor between 1971 and 1974, whereafter he became the first Maltese President.

As regards Count Roger of Hauteville and the reference made to the Spanish Crown ... again in the same page, namely, *The Maltese Language (Part 1)*, we could not make any amendments until we research further. It is a fact, however, that his conquest did not uproot the Muslim masters so long as they paid homage to their Christian overlords from the Kindgom of the Two Sicilies.

Once again, I thank you for pointing out the inaccuacies found and trust that you will not hesitate to contact me should you come across similar errors in future.
