Hi
I'm trying to find any information on John (Henry)Bates who was a Chief Petty Officer (I believe in communications)in the Royal Navy. He signed up in 1939 and retired in 1960. He came originally from the Midlands but moved to East Anglia. I know he was on the "Gibralter Run", and that he served on several ships. If anyone knows anything at all I would be very grateful.
