Lived in Malta in the early 50's at 16 Viani Street.
Father was in the Navy based on board HMS Forth and HMS Tyne.
Spent many pleasant hours on Manoel Island at the Navy NAAFI and cinema.
Favorite beaches were either Mellieha or Ghain Tuffieha.
Thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Rabat catacombs.
Attended the Naval School at Tal Handak.
Be interested to know if the street I lived on still exists and if anyone out there was at the same school.
Hello Graham, yes Viani Street still exists, probably not much changed from when you lived here although construction is ongoing in Malta, unfortunately. In fact, most of Sliema as you knew it will be very much different. In case you have not heard, the remains of the Sliema Chalet has been removed. Pls visit and tell your friends about our site. (a Gozo chaper is on its way in due course)
