My great grandfather James Hogan was born in Malta about 1855. I have not been able to discover why or the exact dates. His father was William Hogan and mother Anne. I believe (or guess) William was in the military at the time of James' birth. They came to Australia I would believe that William was in fact Irish or maybe English. I would be interested to hear from anyone who could help with finding this information James came to Australia and married my great grandmother in Victoria in 1876. It has become a mystery in our family history search.!!
